We are pleased to now be offering lessons in Woodwind and lessons in Brass instruments here at The Music Gym studio! Lessons are available on Wednesday’s from 12pm – 4.00pm and Fridays with our talented instructor, James.

ABOUT JAMES
James has played with the Geelong West City Band and the Geelong Youth Orchestra and upon his graduation from the Defense Force School of Music, was posted to the Victoria Naval Band (VNB) as principle bassoonist and baritone saxophonist. James studied music education at Melbourne University and joined the Australian Army Band Sydney as principle bassoonist in 1993. After 3 years he began teaching in Sydney at a number of schools whilst continuing to play saxophone and flute with popular Sydney Band Big Toy. James has performed with John Paul Young, The Seekers, Jimmy Barnes, Marina Prior and James Morriso and in 2004 returned to Melbourne to teach at various schools and with The Music Gym.
Encouraging his students to receive recognition through AMEB exams, many of James’s students receive pass with Honours in their musical examinations. James continues to perform as part of a woodwind trio at different venues in Melbourne.
